After today's immunology midterm, which doesn't bear talking about, I needed a distraction that I could squeeze into the 50 minutes before the next appointment on my schedule, so I watched the first episode of Ouran High School Host Club.
... I think I need to go traumatise someone else with it.

this jap anime series that's so insane i have no words for it. er. i realise that's not very informative.

yes, i got the lunar sub, and i've watched 2 more episodes since then. but i'll not be in singapore for winter break - the earliest i'll be back is next summer.

it's a fun show, although a few episodes are a bit weird and filler-ish. it seems that the manga was also done in an episodic format.

ouran reminds me of furuba. either gone horribly wrong or horribly right. i like haruhi a lot more than i do tohru, i know that much.

hmm. it does remind me of furuba, and i agree that haruhi is a big improvement over tohru. the male cast, however, is freaking insane.
i can also see parallels with clamp campus detectives - school for the wealthy and privileged, pretty boys who form weirdly-named clubs aka fangirl magnets, ostensibly to serve the ladies and assist damsels in distress. umm, and the leader in both cases is blond and blue-eyed. and they are all in the habit of extensive interior re-decoration.

isn't tamaki violet-eyed? he's half-french, which supposedly explains this. also the sudden bursts of english, and probably the general fruitiness. honey-senpai, on the other hand, has no excuse for being blond, and i don't know where the twins get their genes from.
