I think I have lost the ability to forge (take whichever meaning you prefer) meaningful human relationships. That or I'm not adapting too well to a foreign culture.
I know I can't expect instant chemistry with everyone I meet, but it's a tad depressing all the same.
I'm booking tickets with an airline gone bust. Northwest Airlines is filing for bankruptcy, and while that is intuitively unsettling, apparently this sort of thing happens all the time with US carriers and could actually be good for them, i.e provides a breather from creditors while allowing restructuring to take place. Gives management the upper hand when handling those endless negotiations with the unions, which is definitely useful for the airline with the highest labour costs in the US.
And I thought I was over econs. The things one does for stress relief.

i think filing for bankruptcy is a bit of a dirty trick, really.
i haven't exactly got friends either, just lots of acquaintances. then again, i'm not terribly good at socialising either.

that's really early.
all the more active people in my wing are getting attached there are like 6 new couples this week. or else they like somebody. then i open harry potter and i see the same thing happening.
this is sick.. i am completely jealous.
none of your friends can offer help on socialising, i'm afriad.

jy, amanda... nope, not everyone's here, so there might still be hope yet for me.
mid-afternoon slump is no fun when the weekly problem sets haven't been issued and you can't take a nap cos there's another lesson in 1.5h. especially after learning that you've flunked out of a capella auditions, after you thought that they had been ok.
i want to sleep but i can't. how frustrating.

hhaha, we're so alike. Anyway, remember last time I told you about the 4 Airplanes that crashed on the month of Aug? hehe, Northwest was one of them. Anyway, another airplane crashed in the month of aug too. So that makes it 5.

clearly, bankruptcy doesn't present much of an obstacle to normal operations, does it?

no, it doesn't. united airlines and us airways have been operating under bankruptcy protection for years. bankruptcy just gives the companies sufficient cover to do massive restructuring to regain solvency. they will still be in debt, but nonetheless flying.

anw.. brenda... I believe u'll make closer friens as u go along... it takes time to build up strong friendships I guess.. I don't feel rly close to many of my new friends as well.. except for a few. and a lot of my friends noted the problem tt most of their new friends in uni r merely acquaintances too... so yah.. guess it's a common problem faced by everyone. Nevertheless, good luck k! with socialising n everything..
